365 H/P Air Filter #
I purchased an original stock 327, 365 H/P air breather assembly from another member, less the filter. Apparently it had been on a shelf for the last 30 years. Checked here in Canada with a couple of parts outlets and a GM Dealer who can't find a part number for the required filter.
Would anyone have a part number for a Purolator, K&N or any other filter that can be cross checked by one of the suppliers here.
The inside measurement of the base I beleive is about 14&1/32" by about 2" in height. Filter should be 14"X2".
Thanks Folks

According to my 1983 GM Corvette Parts Book edition, the AC number for your filter is A165C. The listing reads 1963 thru 1966 all 327. It does not differentiate between low or high horsepower.

Thanks Ron, I'll check that number with the dealer.
The 66 327/ 350H/P had a 14 X 4" filter, which is the assembly that I was using. I don't beleive that the 340 or 365 h/p 327 was avalible in 66. Also not sure if the snookel type breather used on lower h/p used the same filter as the 365 h/p engine.

All 63-65 carbureted 327 engines, originally used a 2 piece air filter element. The filter was made up of a round metal screen, and a replaceable foam element.
The AC part number, for the foam element was A165C (Chevrolet # 6484339), and the screen was Chevrolet number 5649530. Neither of these are available through GM anymore, but they're both being reproduced, and are available from most Corvette parts vendors.
65 396's, and all 66-67 Corvettes (except 427 3x2's), used the AC filter number A212C. This is a one piece, paper element filter.
The elements listed by stingrayl76 below, are modern paper elements, not the foam element originally used in the 365 air cleaner, if that matters to you.

Thanks again to all of you. I did get a paper filter to-day by cross matching the wix number provided. When I go to Fla next winter I'll order the foam filter and screen from C/C.
