Can I use regular ATF in my power steering for my 99 ?????

You might post this question in the C5 section and get their input. But, since you asked, I would use what the owner's manual recommends. Otherwise, I would suggest power steering fluid; you can purchase at O'Reilly's and probably any other auto parts store.

Had ATF in the garage,but made a trip to the Chevy dealer and got the correct fluid. Now to find the leak just have to get the car in the air..

Yes,

the only basic difference is the color {and that's only to distinguish the difference} helps a mechanic find out where the source of the leak is coming from......
