Default Siphoning gas

Guys,
I have to remove about two gallons of gas that is left in my tank because I need to change my electric fuel pump. What is the best way to do this. I tried loosening the connection (hard line) but it only drips out. I was thinking of a shaker siphon. Has anyone used this or another method. (other then sucking a hose)

Thanks

Two gallons I would cut down a five gallon bucket and take the sending unit out.

Yeah, if he has a 63-67 he can jack up the right side, shifting fuel to the left side, pull the sending unit and may not even lose fuel until he's ready to drain it out through the sender opening

If he has a 53-62, then insert a hose into the fuel filler neck and suck it.

Edit: oops he updated his post and thus I have no experience with a shaker siphon and can not offer help with that one.

Just a slight amount of air pressure will push the remaining gas out.. Al W.

When I swapped out my gas tank I did what was recommended above by Hitch and Jeff. I jacked up the right side to move the last gallon or so to the left then took out the sending unit. I had a oil changing collection plastic tub underneath when I let the car down and it all drained out nicely.
