Default Suggestions For Front End Body Protection C-2

Did a search here for some kind of front end paint protection on my C-2.
Mostly I came up with C-6 Film or Stretch Bra's.

I'll be doing the 20th at the NCM this August and will travel from Joisey to BG.

What I'd like to have is a removable something once I get to BG. A Vinyl Bra is not my cup of tea as I am worried about it flapping around and damaging the paint. Had one on my 86 Vette. It was heavy and a pain to take off and put on.

Don't want to go with the film as it won't allow me to install and remove.
Does any one make some kind of front end protection that will protect the paint from road debris like small rocks and bugs?

Seems like some one should have come up with a good easy to use C-2 front end protection system.....Should be a Market for that.

Any Ideas......

You always get a few digs before a good answer. I never ever used a Bra or anything on the 65.. Just carry some chip paint for touch ups. Now has new paint job.

So I figured I'd see what's new in the world of protection. But as I suspected..... Na-Da

My '61 has a bra as well but its much simpler and only protects the center area of the car and not the bumpers or headlight areas.

Anybody that really drives their car and has paid to have the front clip resprayed three times like I have done on the '61 will appreciate the protection - and I ain't no chick .. just practical.

Don't even THINK about that 3-M Paint Defender spray cr@p on a show quality paint job. Its over-hyped, very dull-looking when used on show paint, a lot harder to use than the ads & videos would have you believe, is only temporary and is harder to get rid of than an STD (or so I've been told)...

The nose mask is sorta ugly protection but so is a sawn-off Mossberg 500.
I have both.

Your right... Still wouldn't want to be at the front end of one.

My old paint work (Resale Red) has been touched up many a time. My ride is a driver. Now with the new repaint and the trip coming up is the only time I'd give it a thought.

Will see ....maybe I'll just go with out it.

Hey Mark:

First nick is the worst. After that the fun can truly be had.

Heard from Steppinwolf?

Hope all is well.

Check out Expel. It is a clear film and I have it on my C6. It actually makes the paint look better and no swirl marks. It is expensive.

Hey Rich.. No I haven't... I think he got out of the hobby after building that C-2 with the "572" ..Not sure. I think I have his email if you want it.

Good to hear from you. After owning and touching up paint nicks over the last 20 years ... I think after as you say the first nick...I'll be fine.

in my opinion, it's fugly, but it will do the job:

I had a bra on my c5 for a while-- speed lingerie, very, very nice and matched the paint. I got very tired of it very quick... hated the look, and just decided to deal with chips if/when I got them. I've gone on several road trips since then (all of which required travel through/around nyc), and have very little wear. And the c5 is a heckofalot lower than the '67.

Yeah I've seen the Speed Lingerie Bra. It's a Top quality Product. On my Super charged 86 the only time I used the Vinyl Bra was for long road trips to the NCM.

Other then that I never used any kind of front end protection. When I had My 2009 C-6 it too never had a bra. And it had the factory option "Jetstream" Blue Bizillion dollar 3 stage paint job. Try Matching that up....Never happen.

This paint now is 1997-2000 Corvette Pearl Blue. It's a standard 2 stage paint Base Coat Clear Coat. Easy to match. Plus I have what's left over from the Gallon Can.

So I'm good to go...

Inexpensive, easy to remove (and install), and it even comes in blue...

P.S. - Being in front of the guy ahead of you reduces the chance of getting rock chips.
