L89 Convertible is this legit?
While look at C2's on ebay I ran across this car http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Corvette-L89-ALUMINUM-HEADS-1967-CORVETTE-L89-CONVERTIBLE-MINT-/231274101450?forcerrptr=true&hash=item35d902baca&item=231274101450&pt=US_Cars_Trucks from what I've read the date is to early to be an L89 car like the tank sticker says although I guess the sticker could be a fake? What do you guys think of this car?

Well......if the info is correct about the first L89's not being available until March of 67 then I would have to say nice try...but no cigar. It also shows an L88 conversion at some time.

Drifting
Car is in C2 registry stated to have correct code 988 Milano Maroon paint, also did not have side exhaust then. The trim tag rivets were attached yesterday or the day before is my guess. The block pad is not typical but that's just my guess. Enough red flags that I quit looking

1967 L-89 by serial numbers
Does anyone know if the sixteen L-89 Corvettes that were built have been identified by serial numbers? If so, what is the earliest serial number of a documented car?

If all 20 L88 are known so I'm sure someone knows all 16 L89 cars. But I don't think anyone will publicly list any of the known cars

63Corvette: I believe you've got your dates wrong. The page you show is from the May issue of Car & Driver (unless the exact same page was issued to R & T). The entire road test is 4 pages + 2 columns.
The coupe had a white/black interior (dynamite).
Also GM issued a zone newsletter dated March 17, 1967 saying that orders may now be submitted for the L71/L89 (engine) option (Mfr's Sugg. Retail Del. Price $805.75. At the same time, mailgram issued to zone sales managers giving details "part # 3904387 (S/Hp aluminum head) is now being serviced. (Orders) will be placed with GMPD for shipment from Otterburn as soon as possible".
