Searching for `61 Corvette - VIN 0243
I know this is a long-shot, but I am searching for information regarding my first Corvette. I bought this `61 in 1972 in Klamath Falls, Oregon. At the time it was painted a dark gunmetal gray, 283, 4-speed, hardtop only and the VIN (on the steering shaft) was 0243. I was forced to sell the car in 1973 or `74. The dealer I sold it to told me later the car had gone to Chicago and was destroyed in an accident. Don't know how he would know this and I have always been suspicious. I'm not looking to buy the car, just would like to know if it still exists. MAYBE someone here knows the car or has an idea how I could track it down. Thank you.
