Default 1966 VIN rivets

Did the 1966 VIN tag only have rosette rivets?

BANG11 - Sounds like there's a story behind that question, what did you run across? I believe it was some time during the 65 model year that they went from regular round rivets to the rosettes. My 65 Coupe is 4000 VIN range and has the round rivets.

Thanks, on an AO smith body was the Zbar only chromate green, no exceptions?

ALL Z-bars were painted with green zinc chromate primer, regardless whether St. Louis or A.O. Smith bodies. Some were blacked-out locally in the tag area below the glove box door, and some weren't.

Yep, there's a story, I just don't know what it is

Looking at a 1966, that has round rivets for VIN tag. L79 car, AO smith body, with side pipes (I know they've been added), good looking car from pics but I haven't seen it yet. Was bought 5 years ago from a "dealer in Ohio" I'm still finding out details.

PM sent about another 66 with 'round' rivets on the VIN tag.
