Default 67 Master Cylinder- Push Rod "Binding"

1967 Convertible withOUT power brakes.

I have a new MC and have bleed the brakes and everything seems to be working fine EXCEPT that the brake pedal is binding inside the MC... and it won't return to its normal position, I have to physically pull it back.

I believe I read that in 1967 They used the same maser cylinder for PB and NONPB.
The MC has a deep hole and is the nonPB brake push rod (from the pedal to the MC) longer???

If so, does anyone know the actual LENGTH of these pushrods? Am I off track and need to go in a different direction to solve this problem?

Any help appreciated.

We just went through this on a friend's '63. He restored his pedal assembly, and when he installed it, he put the brake push rod in the wrong hole in the brake pedal.

This sounds EXACTLY like the kind of thing I would do!

Off to the barn... and crossing my fingers that its a stupid mistake!

I was the one who changed it to the proper hole. While I was under there, I kind of laughed, and they asked what I was laughing about.
I said, "I see why you chose THAT hole!" The correct hole was higher up and much harder to get at!

Thanks guys... I think we found the problem. I didn't have time to switch it back as my new seatbelts came in and I was itchin' to get em in, but I looked under and notice that I took the path (hole) of least resistance.

What on earth is that hole there for anyway?

I think the lower hole is for a car with power brakes.
