Default Restoring 1954 hubcaps

Hi guys, have a set of 54 hubcaps and was wondering if anybody knew how they painted them at the factory. Did they use a template to go over the hub In order to paint the little squares red. I see a lot of time masking off each square to paint them. Any suggestions or is this the only way. Thanks Bob W

The supplier painted the red accents using a fabricated sheet metal spray mask.

Default 54 hub caps

Wow that is a meticulous masking job. As I said I had my wheel covers don by a skilled pin striper. The results were fantastic.
