That's just sad. I think the owner's right on...that car will be parted out and just sold off for parts. Didn't see it on the c2registry.com (might've missed it). Any more details like drive train etc...??
I wish the owners the best which is recovery intact!

It is a shame and my heart goes out to the owner but if they want it bad enough there is not much you can really do to keep them from getting it. If they get it you can just about bet they will strip it and sell all the parts. That is a shame but that is what they do. You just can't have to many devices on your car to keep the honest people honest and hopefully keep the crook away from it. Good luck on the find of the car.

If my memory serves me correct, this happened 2 years ago to a guy with a 66 Corvette.
Just looked this up. Corvettes were stolen at Woodward Cruise 2009, 2010 and 2014
Each time the owners left the car only for a few minutes.

Complete and total bummer.
I guess you cannot let these out of your sight for more than a few moments.
I hope he gets it back, but I'm doubting it.

I have been to every cruise since the beginning and never had a problem. There are over 40 thousand cars at the cruise and this was the 20th year. So there have been close to 3/4 of a million cars on the Cruise and three of them were stold? Yep this is really unsafe, I can see why you would pass it up.

should have gone to a drive in, eat in place for dinner. Very sad indeed. Eyes open on this side of the border.

I know you can't stop a determined car thief but I think most of the time it's just a joy rider. With that being said, in another post someone suggested having a hidden switch for the wire running to the coil. What if you used something like this?

non-sarcastic response:
It is an amazing collection of classic rides, and apparently, there is a criminal element ready to take advantage of folks who feel completely safe in a very high-end suburb.
I will bet there is a pro with a tow truck like you'll see on "Repo Games" preying on them....
I don't let my '65 out of my sight when I stop at McDonalds on Woodward at 13 mile. (I'm low-end.)

I have a good friend that is in the car hauling business. He also has a repo business on the side. He has the latest repo truck that he can back it in either the front or back of a vehicle, slide the "scoop" under the vehicle, and be gone in less than 20 seconds after coming to a stop. I have gone out with him before. He can pull it really as far as he needs it before stopping and loading in the back of the rig. If the vehicle he is after is parked with something blocking the front and back he can take it from the side, but adds another minute to the process. Bottom line is if someone really wants our cars, they are going to get them. Good insurance is your friend.

Might just get lucky and have it be a joy ride.

and why do they call it a "joy ride", ain't no joy for the owner.

Lets hope you get it back and in one piece
With the many hundreds of classics at the Woodward cruise all over, making it almost impossible to accomplish especially with a flatbed or similar vehicle...Only a crook knows how.....I remove the battery cable from a post....+ or - don't matter. Either one will make life uncomfortable for a crook with no ignition right away.......
Just a thought is that two crooks might be watching the owner waiting for the best opportunity.....any way such a crime is awful.....
I suffered my 84`s theft twice....the last was never recovered......::

Don't give up hope, but do spend hours and hours sending out emails and notifications to any and all car related firms.
Also, contact as much media as you can. Even though we're on the west coast, the New York Times actually ran a story on it!
Get as much exposure as you can. Our's was found 13 days later about 60 miles from where it was stolen. I truly do think it was due to the exposure on the websites as well as the media.
PM me if you want additional help, or better yet, call me @ 916 719-9442.
Good luck and don't give up hope!!
