71 Green 454

I have a 3856284 water pump with date code E 18 7 on my 1971 LS5 (454) Corvette. It has the 3/4" pulley shaft with the 4 stud holes.

Question, did the '67 BB's use the 3/4" or 5/8" pulley shafts. I was going to replace this because I'm installing a new radiator and all associated hoses. There's nothing wrong with this water pump, but if I replace it I didn't want to throw it away if it's still useful.

'67-'70 big-blocks had the 5/8" shafts. All water pumps (SB and BB) went to the 3/4" shaft in 1971, plus the corresponding bolt pattern diameter increase for the fan clutch-to-water pump hub attachment and for the fan-to-fan clutch attachment.

Thanks John, I guess when this one was rebuilt they adapted it to fit my '71 BB.
