Default C1 motor mount bolts con't.......

Every time I take something apart for the first time on my 62, even after 30+ years I run into Bubba. This time it's 2 different size and thread bolts on each motor mount!
Which one is the right one, the coarse thread one is 4in. and the fine thread one is 3 1/2in. and it's bent. Numerous washers on the other one, and squashed rubbers both sides from too much torque...

I think the shorter, 3 1/2" one is correct. The sleeve should stop at the thread, and there shouldn't be any shank showing. An old Paragon hardware chart I have says it's a 7/16"-20 thread.

....by what?

No 3 1/2 x7/16ths (20F) in the city. Came home rooted around in my old stash and found ONE, just ONE. Straightened the other out with a baby sledge and I'll finish it up tomorrow. Don't throw out old bolts and nuts...ever!

Good advice here. I saw a set of rad. shroud mounting bolts/clips, I think it was an original set of 4. Went for $400, and the air cleaner wing nut, and the....(on and on). I think all bolts/clips are unique with head stamps on the bolts. The NCRS, Bloomington restos. etc require original hardware. I (re)used as many of the original bolts as I found during the resto. of the 66. replaced all lockwashers and some nuts.
Love the Friday funnies and the avatar(s) Thanks

I can confirm. Same head mark on my '59 bolts.

Back when I asked VicZ if he wanted a break from doing
"Friday-Time for a smile", which he started, I never thought I'd be doing it a couple of years later. Good fun, laughter is the best medicine, as they say.

It's probably WB 2C - that was a common headmark on "specials".
