The values of them seem to be in the same ballpark, so if you need a change, as you know, the '63 is truly an iconic car. When someone finds out that I have a corvette, they always ask if it is a split-window. I am certain many folks do not even really know what a split window is, but heard it is desirable - and therefore ask that question to gauge how desirable my car might be.
So, if I ever decide to get a Corvette coupe, the '63 would definitely be on my short list.
But, for the OP, I think there is something extra special about a solid axel car. So if it was my decision between the '58 or hunting for a '63, I would keep the '58 and buy a hardtop for it. I would pull the hard top off for the summer. And put the top back on in the fall. Then you get the best of both worlds.

A '58 and and a '63 are so totally different I can't imagine making a rational choice. Here's mine and I love that topless feeling.
Your real problem is space. I finally gave up on garages and just bought a warehouse. Then I installed a central air system to hold down the humidity. In Florida the humidity is a big deal.
The final irony is that in today's market the warehouse has been my best investment over the past 3 years. Go figure.

Team Owner
There is now a backup camera that operates off your smartphone -- so no big honkin' display inside the car. I have heard of some using this in a SWC....not that I know anybody personally that would do that. I've only just heard of it -- really
Perhaps its only used (allegedly) for a SWC owner to backup onto his (or her) 4 post lift -- who knows ?
