Scott, is that car near me? If the rust is confined to the kickups it may be repairable. If it's more widespread you will be upside down on it very quickly. If the motor is seized it creates even more headaches.

I see it is a SS Model, with Crager mags. Very stock and original paint and body. Lower quarters don't show a lot of rust, although very hard to see in this shaded photo. You need to open the trunk and look for bad rust and holes. All first generation 67-69 Camaro's leaked around the rear window into the trunk. Even when new !! Here in rust free California, we always looked in the trunk FIRST when inspecting a car in the mid 70's to buy when they were only 5 to 7 years old.
What options are with the car? Gauge package, Delux interior. Looks like Granada Gold paint. with original Hockey Stick stripes.
I like it

To give you an idea of restored value. A friend of mine in Miss. just sold that exact car, same drivetrain, only yellow, 98point original car. Sold to Oregon for 140K.

after thinking about it, try to buy them both as a package to lower the price per car. Then flip that Camaro and try to get some of your money back to go towards the Vette. There is always someone who will buy anything.

If that's a true Baldwin Motion Camaro, without a totally rusted out frame, I'd give him $25k. That's a big buck car. The '66 probably needs a complete interior, as well as everything else, so I'd leave it and give him $10 for the original blue stripe upper radiator hose. Some "survivors" end up D.O.A. and are only good as organ donors.

Paul the car is in Mass. I can get it for 25k firm and the camaro turns out to be an SS 396 documented as purchased from Baldwin but it is NOT a motion car. The camaro is 20k firm... I'm going to pass on these but they are great finds, to bad they're in such bad condition.

D3=December 3, 1966 production. Early car with vin number around 6S107200.
Rare Mossport Green 982AA paint one of 2311 made that color in 1966. I like it, kinda silver green.
Trim 430BA= Green vinyl. The BA means NO power windows, Headrest seats, Hard top, and Automatic Powerglide trans. I see a hardtop, so the car has one that may have been purchased after delivery to the dealer.
The chrome valve covers are a 68-69 item. ALL 66 427 cars had steel painted orange covers. So, you really need to inspect the engine pad and see if the ''ORIGINAL ENGINE'' is in the car. I see orange paint on the intake under the front of the carb, which tells me the engine may be the 427/390hp unit.
I like how the car is on a cement floor, and not in the dirt like the Camaro. Also, the body looks very original and never hit. Today, that is a real plus.
The underhood rust on the Camaro looks decent, and not at all rusty.
If all the stars line up, and the Corvette is a 425hp original engine car, and not a 390hp and has its original ''IP'' and vin code engine, AFTER restoration it could be worth 75000-85000 in todays world. What is the tach redline? 6000 or 6500? 6000 was the 390 engine.
Same with the Camaro, once all its numbers and paperwork have been verified. Question is, it will cost evey bit of the above $$$$$ to restore each car, so Don's estimate may be correct.
Are you ready to go to work and restore these cars and at least get them running and back on the highway? There may be some real upside here if you and the seller can reach a value. He is not stupid and as he watches the AUCTIONS on his TV as you do. Visit with him. He has a number. Question is, can you both agree.

WOW.... what a million dollar find. I would love to talk to the owner if he is the original or subsequent when the cars were pounding the streets. Any 427 is great in my book but the convertible C-2 part diminishes my interest. Love the Camaro ... its a winner with or without documentation. A real piece of history. I would stand in line all day to get a glimpse of it.
If the Camaro comes up for sale..... please send me an e mail. Take more pictures. This is history in the making. Get any relative information you can of their past. Hot rod history needs to be shared especially from those who were participants.
Thanks for posting.

Is the CORVETTE at 390hp as a few of us have guessed or a 425hp?........And is the Camaro a 396/375hp engine car? The values may be fair if the higher horse engines.

The Camaro turns out NOT to be a Baldwin Motion car. Baldwin Chevy dealer initial sale, but not a Motion car.

On Sunday a couple personal friends of the owner were invited to help move them out of their time capsule, my brother was one of them and he sent me the pictures. The owner said he needed to sell them and word got out... both cars were sold today to two separate buyers.
The Camaro went to a body shop owner and the Vette went to a guy with deep pockets, he plans to do a complete NCRS restoration... Both local Massachusetts buyers and both cars will be saved, Happy ending!
