Amazing grew 100 cubic inchs and had a color change. Who would think that would be done to a 67. At least they did not get greedy and make it a tri-power

How unlikely, that you matched a BJ VIN with an eBay VIN. Now the new owner just has to put a 327 back in.

You mean heater. The orginal paper work shows a L79, Radio, 4 speed, tinted glass, and green on saddle.

Sure doesn't discribe the auction car

Great detective work. I will say the description doesn't mention matching numbers. Let the buyer beware.

Just imagine if GM actually found and released the factory documentation on all these faked cars.
I know, GM has always insisted the paperwork is all gone.
What if? Can you say Sh(^ storm?

I guarantee you BJ and all auction houses are well insulated. The descriptions of all cars are the words of the seller. And all responsibility is on the owner, new and old.
Where it gets dicey is the previous owner. On this car being restored, I assume they knew what they had. Has this car ever been NCRS judged?
Trimtags were changed, right? Today NCRS and Bloomington are very good at spotting fake tags, unless the new trim tag was removed from a real car with the desired trim. Then its just the rivets.
Buyer beware.
Thank God for Restomods.
Now go buy a restomod and have some fun.

Can someone tell me why some one would pay $250.00 for the paper work on this car, besides the owner to burn? It does not include the owners manual!

The present owner needs this paperwork and should not be too hard to find. I'm guessing he would pay much more that the selling price just to use as a hammer in a legal battle against someone in the ownership chain of that car.

Those that fake Corvettes really should think twice about it...

To either destroy the evidence that their "numbers matching" car is not worth what they paid for it (and what they could sell it for), or to use as evidence to bring suit against the seller for fraud.

Accepting just for the moment that the paperwork is real, the owner would have no recourse with the seller unless there was some statement that it was a real-deal car with a born-with engine.

In reading the BJ listing it simply states "Fascinating body-off restoration", which it is. No mention of anything else, not even 'numbers matching'.
