C2 seat back frames
It looks like C2 seat back frames from venders are sold as 63-64, 65-66 and 67. Looking at pictures on line I can't see what the differences are. I know 65-66 seats are the same for headrest or non headrest, the headrest seats just have the mount bracket welded on from the factory.
I know they sell headrest kits (you just weld the headrest brackets to your 65-66 frame)
My question is, "can I weld one of these kits to my 64 seat frames?" Is it just an originality thing, or is a 64 frame made different preventing the headrest bracket from fitting?

You might want to look at Long Island pictures of both seats backs and compare.
You are modifing the seat so I am sure you can adapt them . Please let us know because this is something I might try on my 64 . good luck

Best I can tell, the only diff. between a 64 and 65 seatback frame is the 64 has the pointed brackets on the bottom where as the 65 doesn't. I'm fairly confident the headrest kit will work on a 64 seatback frame.
The 65 headrest are bigger and lean forward too far to be comfortable. The 66 headrest are smaller and more upright. I took one of the headrest off of my 69 corvette and just set it on top of the 64 seat. It looked pretty good! Venders sell the bracket on top of the seat as 65-69 so it should fit in the C2 receiver. JohnZ is correct. Coupe or conv.
