Red C1's hard to beat, in a show
#44
I do great in shows..Usually first place unless I have to compete with c2's then it's anybody's guess. But there's a difference between a correctly restored Vette & a "People's Choice" popularity vote.

Although I too love the fawn beige, I couldn't go wrong in choosing the newer Torch Red with Shoreline Beige coves for my 56. I flipped back and forth between the white coves and the original shoreline beige and now I am satisfied with the choice, it just sets it off differently:

Sorry Mick...C-1's did not have any paint codes...In fact all of the paint colors used on the C1 Corvettes were simply referred to in their generic name with one exception. The '55 model year used actual code numbers for the paint color.

Maybe I should have been clearer. Obviously there were paint codes used by manufacturers of paint products such as Dupont, RM, and PPG. But there we no trim tag paint codes attached to the body as in mid-year Corvettes.

Favorite Colors
Personally, I'm partial to Cascade Green - that's what I'm planning to use when I do mine. My second favorite is white with red coves, a little more subtle version of the red car. That Fawn Beige with white was very sweet looking, though.
(Neither of these is mine, sadly.)
I believe this second one is currently for sale by a forum member.
