Default Under Carpet Heat And Sound Insulation Vendor

Last year there was a vendor who just started selling C2 under carpet heat insulation (a die cut kit for the front) and then additional bulk for the rear. I couldn't find it in the archives. Ring a bell with anyone here ?

Ray,
The Dynamat Store sells custom cut underlayment for C2s if that is the type material you are looking for but it is expensive. If you are looking for the original rubber backed jute material Corvette America has it pre-cut. When i did mine I used Frost King Duct Insulation from Lowes or Home Depot. It comes in rolls of 1' X 15' and 1/8" with a adhesive backing. You have to cut it yourself but save beaucoup bucks.

We have them located here and on sale for $125: http://www.vettenuts.net/index.php?l..._detail&p=1041

We highly recommend adding the Premium layer for more heat and sound protection.

I installed it without the premium layer in my 63. Mark also sent me some extra pieces to put inside the doors. I never drove the car without so I don't have a real fame of reference, however I was happy with the installation and am also happy with how it appears to control heat. I installed Knock carpet over the insulation, looks & fit well.

Just did mine last week using Frost King. Very lightweight (unlike Dynamat) and VERY affordable. The ONLY issue I had was that one of the rolls must have been old because the foil wouldn't stick to the backing so had to return it. Total cost was around $100.00.

I used Hushmat and the original jute mat and I have been very happy with the heat reduction... I just did the firewall back of the seats. I would be inclined to do the rear because of the drone but after three years it has not been enough to make me pull out the carpet....

Didn't see a listing on the website. .. Does the insulation have an 'R' value attached to it? . . . What is the thickness of the insulation? . .

I found it under "C-2 Insulation kit" on their site. 165 dollars. No listing of "R" value... Paragons kit is 1/8 thick and 138.00 bucks..

I just used Hushmat on my 59 and so far so good. No impact on the carpet and it is quieter with less heat inside.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it looks like it would run well over $200 for the standard & premium sets.

Yes its $280 for the Premium Kit. We add the Ensolite on top of our standard foil kit. It makes it one kit, we simply add another layer. Our Premium kits are our # 1 seller. We sell more for the C5/6 generations and there is a lot of feedback in our for sale threads along with customers who have posted after installing. It makes a huge difference adding the Ensolite. The kit for $125 is a great kit especially for the money. It took me 8 hrs to make all the templates for the individual pieces. This saves you the customer hours of cutting and trimming and wasting material that still does not fit 100%.

Do you have an R-value for your material with the premium layer?
