How do you identify a 62 duel point distributor?

Look for a tag which reads 1110985 and/or a tach drive distributor with one of the dual window caps.

Andrew Jackson was supposed to be able to drive tacks with his dueling pistols.

Since you mentioned his pistols in the plural, I assume he had dual dueling pistols?

The '61 I'm restoring uses a 1110914 dual point, tach drive, and FI pump drive. The dual window cap is strange.

FYI....DZVette built a pdf of a handy doc from Corvette Magazine all about Corvette distributors. Things you never knew about are in it.......below.

I think I have one but I don't see a number on it.
Where is the number supposed to be?

It's embossed along with the assembly date on an aluminum band applied just below the tach drive boss.

John I think he's asking about the 914, or the cap. The 985 has it on the band, right?

On the 914 it's a metal plate that covers the gearbox for the pump and tach drive gears. If you're asking about the cap, no numbers on those that I know of.

Let's "nip this in the bud" Andy. The words are spelled "dual" and "tach".

9 year old thread, but 1 day old post. Too late to nip in the bud.

You want weird? Here in the Sierra where wildfires are a part of life, we watch out for each other with the Neighborhood Radio Watch system. I'm "all in" with this system and will be conducting a practice drill tonight. It will involve The Great Pumpkin on Farmer Linus ranch catching fire and sending flames so high that the ISS has to alter its orbit to avoid them.

Trick or Treat!
