Soft top decklid latches- Are they NOS?
Greetings,
I have a set of 58-62 decklid latches that I acquired when Frank Frumar in St Louis went out of business. They are supposed to be NOS and come with new hardware.
How can I tell if they are NOS? I cannot find any numbers on them and there are no boxes.
Thanks, Phil

On original GM parts, when the latch is closed, the tip of the hook will be apx 3/16" to 1/4" above where the Phillips screw is located.
On reproductions, when the latch is closed, the tip of the hook will be tight and likely touching the Phillips screw at the base.
This is why I do not care for reproductions. It sometimes requires the swing latch to be modified to get them to latch properly. Add a reproduction rear bow to the equation, and it's even worse.
