Short Neck GM Water Pump ID.
Hello
I had this water for about 20 years it came off my 1968 Corvette I owned. I had it rebuilt a couple years ago. I had this rebuilt before I bought my 1963 Corvette. I figured good idea to have a spare just in case.
I have always wondered what GM vehicle this water pump came off of?

The correct part # is 3839175 and it's the GM service replacement pump for the short neck water pump engines like 327 283 etc.
This pump has the external bypass (where the plug is installed) that requires the small dowel to plug the drilled bypass if it's used with the high hp engines that use external bypass.
