How much should '61 black seat belts cost?
I've found a set of correct (mine are just generics) black seat belts for my late 1961 but seller wants $475 for them. Is that a reasonable price?

I have a black interior '61 and got sticker shock on the seat belts and went for close-looking repos. I'm with JohnZ - from what I've researched before that is not bad money.

Look on the bright side: Jewel Blue is even worse! Boarderline unobtonium. I went with a close repro set for $25.
Smoke 'em if you got 'em I guess.

$339 from Corvette Central:

I bought a set from them for my 59 and was very pleased. Label was slightly incorrect - they used the 61-62 label, but otherwise they looked great.

I'm aware of this but based on my purchasing experience as of late they are on my "do not buy from them" list.

There is also a caveat on the CC site about these belts being made of original parts and availability is an issue. You were lucky to get a set Loren. I'd call before ordering.
I've had good and bad experiences with most of the vendors. If you cross one off your list for an asymptomatic issue you might reduce your chance of getting a rare part or the best price.

I know - and some people here in this area recommend them, especially since they know Jerry. I'm waiting to see how they handle the complaint that I mailed to them via USPS. And of course they never bothered to reply to my e-mail which is also annoying.

Yes - he has good stuff -bought from him several times.
I guess you guys DO know that '61 had a variety of buckles and the ones Dave is selling are for an early '61 (I have a late '61)...
Be advised if you use original belts with the original hambone attachment hardware you will have to learn the secret Buck Roger's knot in the AIM that secures the belts to the anchor points. It takes a little study...it has to be right though to ensure the belts are secure.
