Default Question of Rarity

I just bought a 1967 427/435 Goodwood Green Coupe. Completely restored and has a tank sticker. The options blew me away.
Side Exhaust
PS
PB
PW
Leather
Headrests
Shoulder Harnesses
Telescopic Steering
Tinted Glass
AM-FM
3.70 posi
M21
I can't say I have seen a 435 with this many options before. Anyone know of a similar equipped car?

Do you know for fact it's the original factory glued tank sticker? They have been known to be aged to look like the real thing. What other original documentation do you have? You can look in the Black Book and get sone idea, but very vague, of some production numbers. It's been said there are more 435HP car now then ever produced. Dennis

If I were building one up, I would load all those options on too.
Hope yours came from St. Louis so equipped.
Congrats on your 67 coupe.
love the color.

Betcha it also has a black interior ("STD" on the trim tag if it's vinyl or "402AA" if it's leather). Hope it's a St. Louis body.

Funny how the OP's question of rarity has gone unanswered so far. Seems any 427 that retains anything original would be more rare than the length of the option list.

I'll hazard a guess and say its not all that rare. Once an owner checks the power window box, the rest of the options fall in line with that mindset.

Sound like a great car, would love to see pix.

sounds like the way I would have ordered one in 67, most didn't get PS due how over easy it made steering with 775 tires, gotta remember all those options were not much for each one. I would say not common but not rare, just a nice optioned car. what it doesn't have is speedminder speedo which in itself is rare as are headrest seats, shoulder belts also from my experience since 1970 when I entered corvette world.

Sounds like a nice car. Ordered with good options. I have only been around these C2,s since 63 and have not seen many with this many options. Post some photos of the car. Does the car have a document trail back through the years? Past owners, work done on the car etc.
Enjoy the car. Can not do much better than this.
I will own another green 67 coupe someday..soon

Because anyone that's been around these cars long enough knows that most cars that were loaded were base engine powerglide cars The people who ordered BB cars really only wanted to go fast. If you price out all these options on a L71 car you got a 7K car in 67. And if you were around in that late 90's when the price of these cars were going up a few got built by the builders spec.

Two Points:

It's been very common to take a low-optioned car through Bloomington Gold for the certification. With the certification in hand you install a bunch of repro options. Now you can sell a highly optioned Bloomington Gold car. BG does not record the options on the car as it's judged. This has been going on for some time now.

Next, people confuse rare and valuable. One of the rarest Corvettes is a 3-speed '63. Is it valuable? Now so much.

Always ask yourself how we ended up with so many '57 fuels and all those L-88 cars.

We have the best judging manuals in the hobby. No other marque has a judging manual as complete as our NCRS and BG manuals. These very same manuals are now the finest counterfeiting manuals anyone can have.

You guys are a bunch of cynical SOB's. I have been around these cars since 1966, The tank sticker is verified original, it is a St. Louis car, the bird cage is notched for the side exhaust, the trim tag is 402AA for leather. It is the real deasl. I have never bought a Corvette that I had not thoroughly vetted first. You guys that talk about small blocks made into big blocks and bogus paper work and the like apparently have had a bad experience or you don't know what to look for.

It's actually getting hard to find cars that are not documented. It's also getting hard to find 67's without power steering. Only 1 in 4 67's had power steering from the factory but do a search and it's more like 3 in 4 have it now. This, to me, is one of the bigger tells. People forget that power steering wasn't that good back then. It's great if you do a lot of slow speed driving but on the open road it doesn't work well. Generally speaking the guy that bought the 435HP coupe probably wasn't checking off the power steering option.

I'd be proud to own it - 'real deal' or not...
But you have to admit - it's a pretty arcane combination of options...

If it is real then it is rare. As I already said: power steering sucked for performance driving back then (and still does now) and I guarantee you that very few 435 hp coupes were ordered with it. The other options are reasonable.

Congrats on the purchase. My low optioned L79 is getting Goodwood Green on it right now as we speak, its original color. The largest % of 67's were Goodwood Green than any other color and I have never seen one yet in person.
Please send pictures, congrats on a nice optioned car.

If you been around Corvettes since 66 then you don't need to ask if your car is rare If you came here to brag please show pictures. I have been around mid years for only 20 years or so and seen quite a few rare cars. But I think I only saw a hand full of loaded L71 cars. That were real and not made up.

Congrats to you Buttonhead. Don't let the skeptics get to you. I had the same reaction when I got my 67 Lyndale Blue L71. Until a top NCRS judge came to me house, checked out the car including the original tank sticker and the old trophy pics when it was a drag car in the late 60s-early 70s.
Enjoy!
