If you want to see it in person come to the 2015 NCRS Winter Regional's in Lakeland FL. in Jan. it will be on display there. This car has been a lot of work and thanks to Brett (Vettedaddy) and his restoration ability and knowing how to do things like this is this car possible to build. Something like this is not for everyone to try to build. Just look at the curves and angles that had to be figured out then made for a mold then parts made off the molds and put together as a car. If it were easy everyone would do it but know one else is. Come see it in Lakeland.

I was planning on attending the 2015 NCRS Winter Regional anyway - now I'll be there for sure. Look forward to seeing the car and all the hard work that's gone into it.

I don't know where the car will be on display at but Tyler (who sets up and runs the event) has told us that he has a place already picked out to put the car on display.

Our hold up now is the company that is going to make the windshield for us. He is talking 4 to 6 weeks out before he can get to us. We are telling him that we need the car to be done by the 3rd week of Jan. to display it at the NCRS Winter Regional's in Lakeland FL. and if we are held up that long we may not make it. If not then the first showing will be at the Amelia Island Concours D'Elegance in March 2015 which we have been invited to bring it there and show. . Heck it even sounds like an fancy deal to an old country boy like me. Wonder if they will let me in wearing my bibs?

Mike, Have you tried calling Pilkington direct? Perhaps, reaching the right administrative department and right person may go a long way. Your car is so unusual and the event in Florida is so significant you may be able to encourage them to press ahead quickly, realizing the advertising/ word-of-mouth promotion they may receive.

We are talking to the owner of the company and we are trying to let them know how important this event is plus how important it is for us to get this car done and take it to FL. and display it. We are not using Pilkington, they wanted 4 times the price of the company we are working with and believe me this get we are using is not cheap. We will just have to wait and see if they can sneak us in early ahead of others who are wanting there windshields done also. We are trying.

These people did a cut down windshield for Waynes car. He sent them a template and it was done in less that a month.

We have a company we are going with but they are just backed up at this time. We are trying to impress upon them how important it is for us to get this done ASAP to meet our deadline.

After speaking with the glass representative today, I will be making templates for all of the glass needed, including the windshield. They'll make the glass from the templates we provide. A PIA but no other affordable choice is available. Should take around two weeks.

Hi Mike & Brett,
Let me know as soon as you know if you are going to Amelia island, so I can book my travels ahead.

If you guys are having hard time getting the glass done, you might consider getting a quote from Finland. I know brizzio and Boyd coddington have used these guys in the past. They made the windshield for my GS out of a template. It's got that odd shape to it and since I cut the top section of my windshield frame they made the glass twice as thick. It took a week to get mine done and the cost was whopping 150€ or 200$.
