Default Speedo bounce C2

I have some speedo needle bounce when hitting bumps in the road any Idea what part of the system would cause this.

Sometimes it's just the way the cable is bent/routed. Try moving the cable a little and see if it stops it or makes it worse.

That's a new one - bumps making it bounce. I guess I would suspect the dampening mechanism inside is worn out - not even sure how it works but I believe I remember that cable driven speedos and tachs have means of dampening bouncing movement.

The part of the system between the seat and the steering wheel...the driver.

I've seen my speedometer jump if I've gone over a big enough bump fast (hard) enough under acceleration...

Could be the negative gravity's effect on the needle itself if there's enough slack in the speedo hub's mechanism.

Default At first I was hoping for a really great thread

About the speedo bouncing off of the 160mph pin!

but oh well just a general bounce problem. Therefore I would check the condition of the cable ends and on one of my speedometers, it was doing that and then after one drive I saw the needle fall off and it laid at the bottom of the gauge. Too bad there wasn't a way to epoxy it on prior to it falling off without taking the whole friggin dash apart! Therefore to solve both problems, I had the 200mph thing done!
