I can not poweshift 1-2 because the tires will break loose and the car goes sideways. It will continue to spin the tires for a long time unless I let off the throttle. Similar to doing a burnout in the water (bleach) box.
I have to shift 1-2 by lifting off the throttle. Successful 3-4 powershift results in some clutch slip, but no loss of traction. Honestly, I have not tried a 2-3 powershift.

Ok, enough theory, Here is the real low down on TKO-600 transmissions. I raced my TKO for two years. Super strong even for me. As My hit is more than most. (wheels up in every run first and second) But, the shifts are super slow because of the extreme rotating mass of the transmission. I power shifted the trans all the time except 2/3. All shifts were at 7000+. I would miss 2/3 1 of 5 times speed shifting. Unforgivable and losing the round.
I pulled the trans in early 2009 and built a M22W from Auto Gear on a M21 I had in stock. Picked up 3/10s on the first run. Big in my circle.
When driving the highway now, that transmission would be great, but that is not what I built the car for.
As far as spinning the tires, My car will not do that, it just goes. JIm

Slowest shifting 1-2 shift trans I ever encountered, but it is strong. It shifts fairly quick at low RPM, but it takes over a full second at 6500 RPM.
It is NOT a good choice for 1/4 mile.

By doing a Google Search, I found the guy who took over all the Keisler RS600 trans repairs/upgrades: The T45 Source. Not only does he have T45 parts, but he can upgrade and beef up the trans as well.
Looks like NOBODY took over the SS700 trans repairs.
I spoke to Ben at Silver Sport (a fantastic guy, BTW.......very helpful), who told me that Silver Sport only took over Kiesler's TKO and T56 operations. The RS ops went to The T45 Source. Ben also endorsed The T45 Source, and vouched for the high quality of the T45, but said that getting new gears for it remains problemmatic.
Ben tells me that my symptoms sounds like a fairly common one: I bent or cracked the 3-4 shift fork and/or might have damaged one of the fork pads. The T45 Source sells super beefy shift forks. Guess what I'm gonna do to mine.

Is it the first or second design shifter?
I bought mine after they came out with the second design, but it was a first design.
I requested a replacement and they sent me the second design shifter mechanism for no charge, but I had to pay shipping both ways (return the old) and have my mechanic install it on my dime.
The second design was to correct the shift issues of the first design.
