Stahl Headers
Kerry Hitt at Advance Composite Products in Harrisburg PA has bought all of Jere Stahl jigs and will be making the Stahl Headers which is great news.

I was super pleased, got mine a few years back for my AFR heads - they are the wider primaries and makes the 383 sound sweet - Spoke with Mr. Stahl and went ver all the options - explained I had power steering and that the car was in Italy - not one glitch - just perfect!

Mr. Stahl had suggested 3 1/2 with the spiral baffles http://www.spiralturbobaffles.com/index.html however only 3 inch baffles were avaiable so we went with the 3 inch side pipe - my United >Racing Engines 383 has a wicked muscle car chop with the header/sidepipe setup my engine is quite similar to this http://www.unitedracingengines.com/s...83/Detail.html about 12 HP less and much less $$$$$$$$$$ four years ago!

Stahl products are well-designed and beautifully hand-finished, but you will pay big time as with most works of art.
IMO when any talented individual makes a breakthrough in product design or function, he quickly earns a "name" in that industry. Problem is, larger competitors tend to copy the improvement details and mass-produce it, not as nicely finished but about as functional, and sell for less.
So the originator has to keep innovating.

There are a variety of coatings that can be used for exhaust systems. Some are purely cosmetic and others actually provide you with extra horsepower.
You also need to know what sort of stainless steel is being used. Most companies use 304 because it's the least expensive. It may not be the best choice though. The top systems today are made from Inconel.
Here's an article I wrote on this subject. Enjoy
