I just delighted you got it runnin' right, but something about all of this is confusing to me. Unless you got a bad Petronix, it should have solved that problem. TI systems have no points and an amplifier, on my '70 LT-1 it was mounted on the inside of the left fender, as I recall. (car sold about 7 years ago). steve

If you are getting sooty smoke out of exhaust ,runs rough ,no idle ,its the power valve .some fuel eats them up quick 66racer

I prefer Borg Warner 112HP or Accell 8104 point & condenser kit.
Domestic built, heavier spring and contact. Could also use the following.

Without re-reading this whole thread, re-check for proper firing order (18436572) and that each plug wire goes to the proper spark plug. To be sure, the cylinders on the left (driver side) are numbered 1-3-5-7 front to rear, and 2-4-6-8 on the right.
