Default Removing body on 1965 convertible

Is it necessary to remove the windshield when lifting the body from the frame or is there enough support to prevent cracking it?
Thanks
Darrel

Thanks Joe,

That eases my thoughts about doing it.
I appreciate that,
Darrel

Glass stays in. I've never heard of removing the windshield for a body lift, so you're safe to leave it in:

I just pulled mine (about 3 weeks ago now) with the glass on it.
The hook for the lift came about 1/4 of the way down from the top of the windshield. I guess I could have adjusted the straps again, but
it was balanced well.

I will be using a hoist to lift the body, how much clearance do I need to clear the frame? Also, where is the best place to attach the straps on the body?
Thanks guys for the information.

Can't really tell you how much clearance you need. I built a gantry and did it outside the garage.

There is a metal track running under the fiberglass below the doors. When you remove the side pieces (can't remember what the heck they are called just now) you can feel it with your fingers. the hooks for the stapes hook as far forward and back as you can get them for stability. One was at the back of the door and the front one was just a little forward of the door.
Check the threads on here, there are pictures. That's what I used. Even the pictures of C3's are helpful. The straps are almost in the same place on them.

Best of luck !

Thanks Dom,

I will do some searching here for that.
