Ok we can start a war over who gets your visitor dollars and company!
Putting in a bid over Texas and Ohio and elsewhere for California.
Let's see we have the Mojave Mile which has been held at the longest private space port runway in the beautiful town of Mojave where Ruttan and company built the Global glider planes and Branson and crew plan the first civilian space flight from. Just to the south is Willow Springs Raceway which is the oldest full race track in California where maybe others are doing fun stuff usually. Up the road from Mojave is Techachapi if you are into looking at trains. You have Edwards AFB where if you notify them in advance, sometimes you can tour the famous Flight test facility and Museum on base, etc.. (see where the Space Shuttles land and such). You can stop on Hwy. 46 where James Dean crashed and get souvenirs. You can cruise Hwy 1 after stopping in Solvang to see California windmills and quaint shops and then head up the scenic Coast thru Big Sur thru Carmel and Monterey. You can play golf with reindeer on the course at Pebble Beach and on and on and we also have Disneyland!!!!!!
Texas, Ohio in your eye, take that!!!!!!!

I will be driving my modified 1965, and it would be great to have a buddy along with another '65. Next year is the 50the anniversary celebration for the 1965 model year, so some special treatment for 1965 Corvettes.

Yeah
Even though we have just as much oil as you guys!!!!!!, the environmentalist won't let us get it out of the ground or Ocean. Thus Gas prices are some of the highest in the Country. Thus for this trip, you should fill up before crossing the border. Also the sales tax has risen to 11% so buy road snack before crossing the border and yes we have the worst Congress people.
You fight Texas style, going right for California's Jugular with the jobs, taxes and politicians!
PS we got a fight on our hands. I see the New Jersey offer is in to share the road which is cool. Thus California will have to kick in a 20 gun salute for our honored Visitor from Finland, if the gun lobby in California doesn't take the last of our cannons away!
PS Ok we have to fight dirty, but most years they start the Hot Rod Power Tour in California and they don't drive like a bunch of NCRS guys!

Yeah, you gotta remember that the Finns are pretty tough fighters - took on the worst that the USSR had to offer, so definitely no fighting.
Plus, they may be the world's best drivers, person for person. Driver's licenses are for real there, not an entitlement like over here.
OP, you will absolutely hate American highway drivers, if you haven't acquired this already.
If it is handy for you, you can stay here in the Virginia Beach area with us. We're a couple of hours from the VIR and a halfway decent way point to some other tracks.

Please consider Austin, Texas. Great town, best in Texas, got it all!
Great live music, food, interesting people, scenery, driving terrain.
F-1 Grand Prix weekend is Oct. 23-25. Lots of activities. Race is on Oct.25. Wonderful time for weather too - sunny & mild!
I just acquired a'66 BB 425hp coupe that would enjoy meeting you & showing you around if interested. Let me know.

So, at the moment the plan is this, (it is not final plan).
Texas mile is where i go and also some ultimate street car association events.
Then Drag week if they take me and my car there.
If possible and all goes like i hope, Ohio mile.
And now maybe some 1/2 mile would be interesting.
Cruising where ever it is possible.
And land marks on the way also.
There will be about 5-7 k miles at start.
