vintage themed single, car length, stripe
Guys, i intend to paint a hood-to-rear deck single stripe on my 67 coupe. I have had the body expert put on a BB stinger style hood and now he will sort out the stripe. Anybody got pictures of this type of stripe you may have done or know of? The intent is to carry the outside of the stinger hood them across the car; plan is to include a small 1/4ish gap from the large stripe then an 1/4 outside stripe.....or something like that. Thanks.

Cover that up as quickly as you can and try to forget its under there
I would have said at first not to do the single stripe but I forgot it looked so good on toddalin's car.
And Mike Brewer of Wheeler-Dealer apparently liked it too!

I don't think I have any web pics from the top.
As for dimensions, the stripe is the same width (including the pinstripes) as the regular "stinger" that would have been applied to a '67 hood.
Mine actually continues from the hood, through the cowl vents, to the top, and down the back around to the bottom.
I was going to put in chrome vents, but the stripe is nicer and the chrome would have detracted. I figured that this area must be painted with the car and I could always put in the chrome at a later time. Glad I didn't.
Also don't forget about the famous green '67 with the white stripe, 6 tail lights, etc. IIRC, that stripe runs the full car.

But, I would also consider the Cobra stripe model where it subtly is wider at the center/top of the car, and very, very slightly tapered at each end.
Of course, the stinger hood stripe is classic and cannot be improved on IMO.
But, a slight taper on the trunk lid might be just the thing. The FF Cobra forum has a schematic showing how to this.
Many people think that the Cobra stripes are the same width end to end, but that are not. Just like the classic vertical Rolls Royce grill or the Parthenon columns appear to be parallel, but are actually are not.
