800 bucks to rechrome four bumpers and the bar??
Called counts customs here in vegas this morning and they told me they used American plating and polishing in Henderson. So I called them and confirmed that in fact counts brings them all the work they have, and have for years. They quoted me 800 bucks for all the bumpers and the spreader bar. Triple plate chrome with polishing. I've been to counts place and been to his shows with his bikes and cars and the chrome looked very nice on his cars.. Assuming this is true what would you do if this was an option? Last quote was north of 2 grand for the same things.

Keep us posted because I'm thinking about sending out mine for some re-chroming.
Do they do any minor repair(s) etc.... or is that just for the Chrome?

That's way cheap! I just had Paul's chrome do my rear bumpers and they were $500.00 a piece. The other issue, besides price, is that most of these places are so backed up that there is an 18 week waiting period. I suppose we can all thank the EPA for shutting down or making it impossible for most chrome shops to stay in business. From now on I will be sending the bumpers off for chrome at the start of builds.

I certainly will.. Lead time was about two weeks and i did ask about sanding and fixing imperfections. They said yep, that's included. I'm definitely not trying to troll here, like i said, seems to good to be true. I think ill head down there tomorrow morning and check the place out. See what their chrome looks like. If it does look great, then ill pull the trigger.

That is on the order of what Virginia Vettes charges $200 a corner with a 2-3 week turn around time. They just redid my split window front.bumpers and they are very nice.

That's a good and fair price. Dennis

Hmmm, sounds like I might have to try them for my next project. Reasonable price and turn time.

My opinion because I have had chrome done at Pauls as well as Va Vettes. VV does a nice job, but it isn't custom car nice, you need Pauls or better for that. VV strikes me more as original chrome might have been. Don't get me wrong they do a nice job, but if I built a custom car I would use Pauls. So it really depends on what you are doing with the car in my opinion.
Also, I had one of my bumpers that had a quarter sized pop show up in the chrome about 3 or 4 years after the original chroming and they fixed it for free for me.
Also when I had my bumpers done at VV they don't do anything about removing broken bolts etc...that may have changed so if you have that kind of need check ahead. Pauls did remove those for me.

I don't mind the "original" look that VV provides but I'm not doing restomods, etc.. VV also fixed a problem with my C1 bumpers for free that required re-chroming. All depends on what you are looking for.
Some examples of VV work.
