Default C1 F.I. air cleaner

Was the original air cleaner for a fuel injected engine made of steel or Fiberglas ?

For someone who is NOT concerned with an absolute correct numbers matching car would be the best candidate for such an air cleaner. Otherwise, I'm thinking $200-500 would be top dollar.
Jack Podell sells his repo steel air cleaners for around $700, and they are pretty good.

A nice fiberglass repo might bring $100.00 to $125.00 . Very nice steel repo's can be bought for under $700.00 now so the market for the glass repos is very thin.

used to be, fiberglass was all you could get; and they look and work fine, they are just not metal..
