What a great find....62 are da best!

What's the search and find story behind this one? :

62 was the first year for the metal rocker covers as well, the only C1 to have them.

Did you get the package shelf and the seat belts?

I agree, that plate bracket is the first thing I removed off my 62.....:lol.........:And 58-60 rings don't line up correctly with the Deuces and the headlite rings are body color...And a big plus is all the body panels seams are really nice....

Clean it and put it where you can find it, in six months you'll put it back on.

Now that I look at more pics of 62s you might be right! Mine just seems to be too far out front. It might need adjusted.

Might be off an earlier car?? I believe the early plate brackets did stick out further to clear the grill "teeth" of the earlier cars.

Yup. Forum vendors sell the correct brackets.

Possibly a former owner got both the chrome headlight surrounds and the front license plate bracket from an earlier "donor car". The bracket on my '62 is the correct part and does look much better. Keep us posted on your progress - the car looks like it was a great find. Good luck.

Story on the "find". I've known about the car for about 15 years and have talked to the owner but never actually saw it. He bought it around 1991, and only drove it few times. Somewhere along the timeline he stored it in an ocean shipping container for a number of years and found that it was destroying the car so he moved it to the trailer where it has been for the last 8 or so years. I ran into him a few weeks ago and he said he wanted to sell it... well... what would you do? I told him I wanted to buy it...
I had it on the lift today and will post pics along with a bunch of questions. Wait until you see what we found under the hood...

Very nice condition for a barn find. My 62 was a storage find, but in no way as nice as yours. My had been taken apart in the early 70s and sat in different storage places over the years until 2012 when I came along.
