Default 1957 home movies of the Corvettes racing in the Bahama's.

Not sure if this home movie has been posted but it is remarkable!

'Remarkable 1957 Nassau Video'

Don’t miss this remarkable home movie from 1957 Nassau Race in the Bahamas.
The quality is quite good, but no sound; make race car noises while you watch.
There are shots unloading the cars from the transport, driving though town to
get to the track, and a lot of close-ups of drivers, cars, and pit [...]

*(From GBvette62-*)
"That's NASCAR great, Curtis Turner, in the red Corvette SR-2. "The Flying Dentist", Dr. Dick Thompson, and Jim Jeffords were driving the two "stock" 57 Corvettes. I believe that the white and the blue 57's, are thought to be the first 2 production, 57 fuel injected Corvettes ever built."GBvette62

In an age of special effects, sound bites, stirring commentary, and granny award winning background music - it fails.

As a period piece reflecting the times and tons of cool cars, it's a total win. I liked it.

Cool movies. Thanks for posting. Races were much simpler and more laid back then
I see Denise McClugage, "Fon" DePortageo, and Carroll Shelby in the picture............

Cool old film!

That's NASCAR great, Curtis Turner, in the red Corvette SR-2. "The Flying Dentist", Dr. Dick Thompson, and Jim Jeffords were driving the two "stock" 57 Corvettes. I believe that the white and the blue 57's, are thought to be the first 2 production, 57 fuel injected Corvettes ever built.

Maybe I'm just living in the past, but I love that stuff! Thanks for posting!

Easy to pick out Harley Earl (at six feet-four) standing next to Bill Mitchell (at five feet-eight).

I'm so sorry for offending today's Corvette owners, but those cars have a class that today's exotics can't even come close to touching. There was something magic about the cars of that era which is long lost by today's auto makers.

Today's street Corvettes are simply the BEST. However, up until 1969, you could buy a race Corvette like the L88, and RACE it with almost no preparation, and be competitive, and even expect to WIN occasionally.

I agree. I owned a 1959 and a 1961 and I enjoyed looking at them in the garage from every angle.

The SR-2 looks very 1957, FINS were IN! Without a sound track, I imagined some spectators saying "Those Furrairies really GO!"
