Default Lost all spark

Hoping one of you experts can help me out...

66' 327/300 auto powerglide just up and lost all spark.

The other night I was putting the finishing touches on my recent partial rebuild of the engine. I've had the engine in and have had it started several times in the past month and was with a couple of buddies who came over to help me set the timing...

The car started right up (albeit a bit rough) and we were in the process of tweaking the timing. The car quit and I have not had spark sense...I've changed out the points and most recently a new coil. I'm at a complete loss on what to do next. I have solid electrical's throughout the rest of the car, i.e. power windows, radio, lights, etc.

Prior to the rebuild I've never had any issues like this

Thanks,

Take your test light and hold it on the coil (-) terminal while cranking the engine - does the light flash on and off? That tells you if the points are opening and closing.

It'll also tell you if the points are making contact with each other. I think if the test light flashes, that only leaves two possibilities for no spark. Bad coil or condenser.

If you and your pals were screwing around with the timing make sure the distributor is still in the right position and its hold down bolt is tight....

Thanks everyone for the info and the link...I'll give things a try again today and hopefully get it sorted out...At this point I just want to be able to drive it to my pole barn for winter storage and not have to push it the barn...

and if I don't get it sorted out...well I know a place where folks might be able to locate the latest "Barn Find"

Engine cranks, but no spark, correct?
Check the hot wire connection to your coil.
Look very carefully where the wire is crimped to the spade connector.
I have seen these crimped improperly, resulting in intermentent failure.
Easy test: stick test light probe into hot wire and see if voltage is there. If so, then place test light probe on coil terminal. If no voltage, crimp connection is faulty.

If you follow the simple check in posts #2 and #3 and it checks okay, you have already verified EVERYTHING in the ignition system up to and including the points. Excluding only the coil and condenser. It takes maybe ten seconds.
