CF 2014 Edition of Secret Santa interest thread
Hey Guys
THE Corvette Forums' Secret Santa Gift Exchange (CFSSGE)
First, if you have no idea what a Secret Santa Gift Exchange is, here is a brief explanation, and a LINK to LAST YEARS INTEREST THREAD to give you an idea
Some of the feed back I got from last years' 2013 Secret Santa Gift Excange was that we needed to start earlier, so as everyone who participates can get their gift in time. Also, check out that thread to see what kind of swag was given/received
Soooo.... while I know we are not even into November "yet", I wanted to start the thread early enough, so that the participants could get their gifts out by Thanksgiving to ensure that everything arrived in time.
If you have any questions/comments about this years CFSSGE don't hesitate to ask.
If you want to participate, just post here and say, "I am in". Ideally, I'd like to limit the exchange to active forum participants... I'll leave that up to you to decide if you are one...
We had about 10 last year... If you were on the fence last year, please step up this year. It may be the only (at least Corvette) gift you get!
Ho Ho Ho!
THE Corvette Forums' Secret Santa Gift Exchange (CFSSGE)
First, if you have no idea what a Secret Santa Gift Exchange is, here is a brief explanation, and a LINK to LAST YEARS INTEREST THREAD to give you an idea
"Basically you have a group of folks... lets say 10 (or more), that want to participate.
Once everyone signs up, the organizer randomly sends ONE name and address out to each participant. Each person is responsible for sending a gift of nominal value (determined by the group) to the individual he has an address for....
Its a SECRET SANTA. You get a gift in the mail and don't know who its from.
Everybody reports here in the secret Santa thread when there gift arrives, and what it was, and after everyone gets theirs, we can "reveal" who we were the secret Santa too.
The points to stress are
1) The person receiving the gift doesn't know who the giver is (until revealed after date specified by group)
2) You only buy ONE gift for ONE recipient (and you only GET ONE gift from ONE sender)
3) Gifts should have a value that is pre-determined buy the group... that is, if we say $25 or so. You can spend more if you want, but its not necessary. You don't even have to buy anything... if you have some car parts or Corvette stuff you don't need any more, that is cool too.
4)Gifts must go out by a certain date to ensure they arrive before Christmas. (hard to enforce, but try to meet the sending deadline.)
5) To make it extra cool, we should TRY to make the exchanged "Corvette Themed" but at least car related, as this is a Corvette forum after all."

Also, if you need inspiration, just take a look at LAST YEARS SECRET SANTA THREAD for some ideas.

Thanks Secret Santa. I received three 1963 (May, June and August) Car & Driver issues, a Lindt chocolate bar and a "The Secret Society of the Sixty Four" T-shirt. Way cool!
Thanks again!
