Guess who sat in my car yesterday?
I had the honor of being invited to the Pasadena Art Center of Design Car Show yesterday. I had to submit a portfolio of the history of my car, along with pictures, and how it would pertain to the theme - - -"Street to Screen" This was a 4 month process. My Category was "Sports & GT". My competition were Jaguar's, Alfa Romeo's, Porsche's, Mercedes, Lotus's Lamborghini's, and Ferrari's. Well, I got lucky, and won. I am honored. Jay Leno came over and sat in my 63. He was telling me about his silver 63 with Fuel Injection. Very neat guy, and he gave me the "thumbs up" and said he liked it.

Well now. You either write very well or have a nice car.
I suspect both. Very cool.

but... but... that is only a 250hp motor car with drum brakes!
(tongue planted firmly in cheek!)
Congrats... awesome, just awesome!
I often wonder if guys like Jay are secret members here... .maybe they go under the guise of MikeM or something.

Very nice and congrats!! Jay Leno is definitely on the short list of celebs I would let sit in my car. That pic needs to be framed and hung in "your" Big Dog garage

I'm still on a big "HIGH" from the show. Besides Jay Leno, Barry Mcguiar, CEO & President of Mcquiar's Auto Products gave me the trophy. Chip Foose, George Barris, Ed Justice, Bruce Meyers, were also present at the show. Jay was a real down-to-earth guy. I can't wait to see his new car show on TV.

About six years ago when Car Crazy had their "Car Crazy Confessions" at the end of each show, I sent in a letter about my life-long quest for a C2. They contacted me saying that they really liked my story and asked that I make a video for their new "Confessions" segment. With my son's help, we made the video and, after some professional editing, it was a very neat clip at the end of the "Fleetwood Country" episode (http://www.carcrazycentral.com/Video.aspx?VideoID=397). Although I never met Barry in person, he comes across as a very sincere person who is passionate about cars and the connection they have to their owners.

I thought Jay was maybe one of those "check writer" collectors - couldn't have been more wrong. Saw him in some show where he was going over his Stanley Steamer....he did an off-the-cuff explanation of how it all worked and went through the start-up procedure (which is fairly complex -- and dangerous if done improperly) himself. Pretty impressive.
