What parts are rare on a 63 SWC
I've tried the search and never have any luck. I recall reading a few threads of members talking about rare parts on a 63 SWC or expensive to purchase. Since I'm in the market for a SWC would somebody list which parts to look out for in the purchase of a SWC, thanks.

Any part you need is going to be expensive.
There's literally hundreds of 63 only parts.
All the window trim is scarce. Doors are expensive azzell. Amazingly, very little of this is reproduced either. If any piece you are looking at is suspect, look at it from the viewpoint of having to refurbish it.

If only it were that simple....'63s nearly have one-month-only parts. Headlight buckets, oil pressure gauges, center console covering, stamped steel valve covers, gauge clusters, hood blocks -- all this and more can vary within the '63 model year depending on what serial number car you have and when it was built....
But.....knock yourself out: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...ets-do-it.html

If you are interested in a 63 car have someone that has experience with 63's look at the car in person if possible, it's well worth the $$.
How about the early heater box, then there is the early defroster duct and the two floor ducts before the later style is used. Or even the early headlight cover bezels used with the fiberglass buckets. My head is starting to hurt so I don't want think about it anymore..

Rare Parts
Not stupid by any means. Its just sort of a mountain you have to climb with '63 to begin to understand all its nuances. I've even found '63 owners that are in the dark about many of the unique aspects of the cars.

If we are going for rare we may as well kick in the Z06; it even has its own distinctive power brake option - separate from the garden variety '63s...

Don't forget the 63 early hinge pillar weather strips. If the 63 doesn't have all the original parts, best to look for a 64 or 65, they are more refined. You will be less frustrated.

Knock off wheels were never options in 63. You had to order them over the counter as accessories. Early 63 ko's were notorious for causing leaks in tires, thus needing the use of inner tubes.

I don't agree with this wording. KO wheels WERE an option in 1963, but they were not delivered on customer cars at delivery as far as we can document. However, they were delivered to, and used by the Z06 racers after March of 1963 . There were no KO wheels at Riverside or Daytona, but all of the Z06 racers used them at Sebring. Therefore, KO wheels are period correct for those Z06 coupes which raced at Sebring (or later) in 1963.
There's plenty of early promotional pictures with with the wheels on them. Some know how many of those cars had the wheels. It is also known that there were at least twice as many of those wheels manufactured as what were on the promotional cars. You don't really think those wheels got scrapped do you?
Look for possibly a revision in the ncrs judging guide.
I don't know whether they leaked air or they didn't leak air. I do know there were some litigation problems going on and the leaky wheel story may have just been a cover story?
