Default Deciphering Generator tag in our 61.

Wondering if the generator in our 61 is correct ?

Delco Remy tag says Serial 8L25 and Model 2115. It was originally a 270hp dual quad car. Tach cable screws into rear of generator. Also the Gen has a small metal oiler cap that flips up at the top rear of it in case that info is helpful.

Thanks-

1102043 would be correct for a non-F/I '61. 30 amps.
You DO know you can get blank tags with whatever you want stamped on them...
The tach drive and oiler caps are correct - can't say as to the generator itself though.

61 Corvettes were originally equipped with a 2043 generator. except those with 315 hp engine . The serial number on the tag is the generators assembly date. 8L25 equates to !958 Nov 25. Model 2115 is probably a passenger car application.

Frankie, thanks for the info, although it should have, it didn't occur to me that tags are available.

What about the 8L25 ? does that tell anything about the date of this generator ? What year it was originally used in ?

Thanks again-

Donald answered that below me thinks.
Yeah you can get stamped tags and the pop rivets....shave the bottom off the pop rivets and JB-Weld the whole thing on to the generator.
Not that I would do that - no way, never, not me
