tach drive distributor Qs
hi there, i am rebuilding my distributor, and i have several that i have been taking parts from to complete mine. my Q is, what is the difference between the HP main shaft and the STD main shaft? are they marked with anything to tell them apart? thanks

I believe the shape of the "football" on top of the shaft is the difference.
Delco at one time produced about a dozen different shafts but now the rpros are either base or HP versions. Doesnt matter as one could fashion an ignition curve to his liking with either repro shaft with a combination of different weights, springs and autocam .
