Default Mystery of green clip mounting holes

Trying to replace rear brake crossover line on 1966 built in Feb 66. I believe it is mounted to the front side of the rear frame crossover member by two " green clips " but have been unable to find any mounting holes for the clip retainers. CF Archives, assembly manual and web search have come up empty as to the actual mounting hole locations. I would GREATLY appreciate your information and any pictures would help. THANK YOU

I believe the line runs across the rear of the cross member to protect against damage from road debris.

Tmichaelson,

Realize mines a '65 so take these pics with a grain of salt but think the clips are probably the same.

As Mike Geary said that rear brake line is mounted on the backside of the rear crossmember.

Here's some pics of the line placement and the clips on mine:

Keep in mind, mine ain't green as it's a Not Correctly Restored Stingray.

Regards,

Jim

As Mike G. and 6t5 posted, the retaining clip on the rear of the diff. Is not one of the green clips. The other location for the green clip brake line retainer is on the frame where the "Z" bar is attached (clutch). It is a little tricky to insert and secure this clip. Make sure your brake line is well aligned with this hole so that it does not put pressure on the green clip forcing it out of position. Best...

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I see something that my '67 is
missing. Rick, if you don't mind, what is bolted to the rear of the crossmember between the empty exhaust tubes? My car has the threaded holes, and I've been wondering what belongs there.

Thanks for any info, Gary

Gary,
Not sure what you are referring to, unless you are talking about the emergency park brake assembly.

Rick, in your photo, on the upper half of the x-member in the center, are two fasteners. One is below the e-brake cable roller, the other is below the u-joint. My car is a 4 speed as yours is, but mine lacks anything bolted in that position. threaded holes are there, but 'nobody's home'.

All responses greatly appreciated and Thanks to Corvette Forum. Lesson learned AGAIN -- If it's not where you think it should be look where you don't think it should be. This seems to work EVERY time
