C1 smells like a goat
Two smells: Gas smell after partial half tank fill up even after new tank, lines, etc. No obvious gas leak. Goat like smell(checked trunk, no goat) worse after servicing. Any thoughts?

Wouldn't know about that....my 61 has the."goat delete" option.
Make sure your gas tank cavity cover is sealed.

Maybe you're driving a PONTIAC..............sorry but the obvious is usually the first thing overlooked.

Goat smell prob something in the "soft" bits. Seat foam, dash pads, etc

You could try closing up the car with 2-3 open boxes of baking soda for a few days. If that doesn't do it then I think you are in for some work.

What's the history of the car?
Did you just get it, of have you had it for a while.
That may provide clues.
If you have had it for a while, is this a new occurrence?

Stopped by a local farm to smell a goat (several actually). Most interesting experience depending on which part of the goat is being assessed. Didn't find anything that remotely smelled like anything associated with an automobile. Will need more information if I am going to be of assistance.

Some good ideas in this thread..
My '61 sat for 30 years.. When I started working on it, it smelled terrible.. It really was a combination of things.. New carpet/seats/foam was a major improvement, but the general "de-gunking" of the engine bay and undercarriage all reduced the stink as well. I had mice living in the trunk at some point, and that is proving to be very difficult to get rid of that smell - still get a whaft of it somewtimes...
The gas smell probably deserves the most attention.. I think you started another thread about that one.. Get that figured out first! I replaced everything (tank, filler, sender, vents, etc.) and initially had a bad gas odor. Went back and re-tightened the screws holding the sender to the tank, as well as using foam insulation on the tank cover - and now I never smell gas at all.
