can someone tell me if 1965 rocker panel are painted black or not? I always thought they were polished only but I have a set that is painted black and it looks original. I look in ebay and both version are available. my belief is that it left the factory polished only and someone painted it afterward. can someone verify this?

The recessed area around the "spear" at the top, was painted black. The rest of the panel, including the spear, was anodized aluminum.

67 panels, which look very similar, are painted black except for a small indent along the top of the panel.

thanks gbvette62 for the reply, my take away from you is that 65 rocker panel comes originally anodized aluminum and was never painted black out of the factory. I have 2 sets of 67 rocket moulding and 1 set of 65 moulding and the 65 anodized aluminum area was painted black. the 65 moulding been painted black is what I am not sure off. thanks
