I am trying to install a new trunk lock into my 1959 trunk lid.
The lock key turns clockwise and the latch mechanism turns counterclockwise. Are the 59 locks different from, say, a 62?
Corvette Central has different part numbers for the different year locks, but that always does not mean the parts are different.
Maybe I got the wrong lock set?

Phil, the face of the 59 trunk lock is different than the later C1s. 58-60 lock face has a circular raised ridge, like the door locks. I believe that starting in 61, the lock faces were flat. The photo is from my 60 door lock.
