Default 1966 Clock Repair

Anyone had a recent experience with getting your clock re-done including the face? I have seen +\- on repairs by Roger.

Does the OP's clock work at all? Mine would run for a while then stop. I took it out, opened it up and cleaned it with electrical contact spray. It works fine. Sometimes that's all it takes after 40+ years.

Before I replaced my clock I did some research about just cleaning it. I found very mixed results. Not just Corvettes but other cars from the 1960's. Some folks that's all it needed while many others said cleaning it worked for a while but then it eventually stopped and had to be re-cleaned. In the end I decided to replace my original with a NOS unit I found. Since I disconnect the car battery when it's parked at home the clock doesn't run which should minimize wear on it. The factory clocked lasted many years with pretty much continuous use so I'm guessing my NOS unit will last as long as I own the car without me having to mess with it in my lifetime. Time will tell!

No clue on the "40475" number. Maybe a job number or perhaps April 4, 1975 when the clock was repaired or cleaned.

The "2136" is probably a factory date indicating either February 13, 1966 or the 213 day of 1966 (Late July or early August 1966). Pick the one that is a few days or weeks before your car build date.
