Diamond Back Radials On Your Midyear
How happy are you with your DB radial tires ? I had planned on purchasing a set of goldlines for the '66 before the end of the year and I had a set of BFG 215/65/R15's on the KO's before and I like that size (though it's a little shorter and wider than OEM) and was thinking of the same, I'll still be running 15x6 repro knock-offs. What have you got, what do you think and what would you have done differently ?

I have the DB redline 205s on American Mag Torq-Thrust Ds on my '67. Really like them, they are my driving tires.

Have ridden on mine '61 for over 3 years.....they run true, look great, wear like iron...whitewalls don't yellow either...

I have DB 205/75-15 Firestone redline radials on my '67, replacing the new Coker 205/75-15's that were on it when I bought it; the Cokers took 5-6 oz. of weights to balance, and radial and lateral runout and road force variation were off the scale on the Hunter GSP-9700. Even though they were new, they were so bad I just left them at the tire shop when I left on my DB Firestones.

I bought a set of DB, 215/70/15's this past summer. They are Michelin relines on my 67 BB with repo bolt on's. I love them. They ride smooth with no rub.
Here's a link to the thread I started asking a similar question back in Sept:

I have DB Goldlines on the vette and have been very pleased with them though the 215 do rub on full lock turns. There is also Universal Tire out of Pa. and my '65 goat has red lines from them. The difference between the companies is DB makes to order and you have a few weeks of wait time. Universal seems to stock the more popular sizes. I have been well served by both.

I have purchased 3 sets of tires for my cars from Diamondback and am very pleased with all of them.
On the 61 I'm running Michelin 215-70-15 whitewalls purchased in 2012
On the 65 I'm running Firestone 215-70-15 Gold lines. That's what they offered in 2007 when I bought them.
On the 68: 225-70-15 redlines. BF Goodrich Comp T/A. Purchased in 2007.
The Michelins would be my choice for a midyear from what they are currently offering.

I just had a white wall repaired by DB. It had curb rash and I sent it in for them to redo the WW at my cost.
I was told that they can no longer get the Michelin X. I don't know the story behind it (whether Michelin stopped making them or...?).
In any event, count me as a DB fan.

Although not from DB, I have been using 215/70/15 Michelins for about 3 years now on my KO's. So far so good and I like the wider look.
