Going to look at 63 SWC
Going to look at a SWC in the next few days. All I know is it is Red and been sitting in a garage for awhile. Not really up on these cars but what are some of the key things to look for other than engine size and matching numbers ect. other hot issues How about price range.

SWC's have many one year only scarce expensive parts.

C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified 2020
Very important. Be careful of what the owner may say about the car. People in general, do not have total 100% accurate recall, especially about a car that has been sitting for years. Pictures are a must. Dennis

Absolutely bring a '63 guru with you!
The engine, if original, will be be a 327. There was only one size, but it came in a four versions:
Base 250 HP 4-barrel
Option L75: 300 HP 4-barrel
Option L76: 340 HP 4-barrel
Option L84: 360 HP Fuel injection
Any of these items, if present, cannot be original to the car: Disc brakes, multiple carburetors, any carb that's not a Carter 3460S, 3461S , 3500S, or 3501S. These don't have to be deal-breakers, but you shouldn't pay for originality you're not getting.
You will need a good wingman or wingwoman on this. Maybe someone from a local club. I hope it has whatever level of originality and condition that you are seeking.

Based on the cars condition I know but what would be a good base line price for a car like this? Im worried it may be out of my price range.
Thanks

It is only worth what you are willing to pay an the owner is willing to take for it. That is what it is worth. Good luck 63 SWC are nice, I have had several over the years.

I don't know of any - but you might want to find the NCRS chapter there and ping them and see if somebody will help. Be a bit cagey about discussing the location, etc.. about this car. SWCs are hot right now and I had one bought out from under me. If you pass on the deal (price too high, etc.) then certainly give somebody else a shot...
