well its official, my 61 will not be leaving its garage till spring . with two feet of snow on its way I will cover the car !
last year the flat roof on garage was replaced with brand new gable style roof .no more worry about roof collapse from heavy snow.
I am sure as I cover the car in garage later I will think of seeing my uncles put snow tires on there c1 cars as a child. Better yet my aunt going food shopping with the 59 with snow tires and me and cousin coming along !

Already a couple of inches on the ground here. Blizzard conditions tonight and tomorrow John Deere is ready to go.
Hey Jack I like to drive in the winter too but this storm will keep the Vettes in the garage for a while.

Good luck down there folks. We Upstate NYers get our fair share of snow (REAL UPSTATE...not White Plains LOL). Be safe, take lots of breaks, rest your backs and stay hydrated.

Yea, unusually warm weather here. Went for a drive with the top down yesterday. My son is about to experience his first winter in Connecticut.

Bill, We've got almost 2 feet on the ground and drifts close to 6 feet. Winds are gusting over 70 mph right now. Still blizzard conditions. I've been up all night with the tractor trying to keep this 1/4 mile long driveway passable. What a PITA. Fla. sounds pretty good to me right now.

Turned out to be a "non-event" in Central NJ. Lucky for us the storm tracked further east than the "European Model" predicted and was in line with the more conservative models which predicted that we'd get about 8-12 inches. The talking heads on TV started to tone down their rhetoric by around 7 PM yesterday evening, and by the time I went to bed last night I knew that it wouldn't be very bad tomorrow (today).
Cape Cod was thankfully spared the "three feet" that the Euro Model predicted and glad to see that they "only" got about 20".

We wound up with about 8". Not to bad at all. As big of a pain in the a$$ it was banning travel and shutting down mass transit really allowed Sanitation to clear the roads. Nothing was moving till after 8:00 this morning. By then the Sanitation had a pretty good handle on the main roads and a lot of the secondary roads. The biggest problem as always where do you pile it? This will take some time to go away.

Most reports give us 28" to 30" on eastern Long Island, but it's really hard to get an accurate measurement due to drifting. Temperatures seem stuck below freezing so it looks as if it will be with us for a while. My driveway is 600' to a private road, then another 1/4 mile to where the Town begins maintenance - lots of fun in a storm like this.

I'm in Riverhead which is just west of Mattituck. We received an honest 20" on flat surfaces. No problem for our 67, it's covered and up in the air via Lift. Al W.
