There was a similar incident in Burlington, Ontario in 2013. There is an online add site just like Craigslist but it is called Kijiji. Two men show up at the door to buy a vehicle and the seller takes them for a test drive. Read on. You really have to be very careful nowadays. There are cons everywhere.

Do the deal at your bank. That's where I would go to sell or buy a car. Out of state then go to a branch where it is close to the car. Somewhere, there is a third party involved who can help get the transaction completed.
